The Story Behind 2nd Amendment Nation
I wanted to create more rings for men, and after kicking around some ideas, came up with the idea of a ring that celebrates American freedom.
There is nothing more American than the Constitution and the Right to bear arms, but creating a new symbol to express this wasn't easy.
My wife and I have been living the American Dream for the last 24 years as small business owners of a fine jewelry store. We got our start in our home state of Wisconsin and we even had two jewelry stores before deciding to move to a much warmer state.
In 2017, my family and I moved ourselves and our jewelry business to Arizona. We found an average size city that called out to me, perhaps it was the local display of patriotism, with American flags flying everywhere, that resonated with me. My wife also found some new creative inspirations for her jewelry designs.
Actually, my wife is the real creative talent behind the the magnificent jewelry we typically sell at our jewelry design store. I'm not just saying that because she's my wife and we have two wonderful kids, she's simply great at her job, and has won awards for her jewelry designs. Her masterpieces of jewelry are all one-of-a-kind. I rarely offer any creative jewelry design ideas to her other than when I find a spectacular gemstone that she might be interested in using.
Moving to Arizona sparked a renewed my sense of American patriotism, perhaps it was all those American flags flying throughout the town. That's when the idea for 2nd Amendment Nation really started to take shape. As I said, normally my wife makes our jewelry design showroom come to life with her one-of-a-kind designs, but this new idea of mine took a lot of my own talents and experience to work in order to pull together a reproducible line of jewelry while also staying true to the unique design nature of our normal jewelry business.
It took more than 4 years to go from initial concept to fully launching the 2nd Amendment Nation product line. A lot of the mainstream jewelry found in stores today is manufactured outside of the US, in fact, it was a real challenge to find the right people within the US to help bring this line of jewelry to life.
The concept behind the 2nd Amendment Nation is that it's "Made for America," and as much as possible I also wanted it "Made in America." After several attempts, I finally found a very talented CAD/CAM designer in Arkansas who was able to capture my vision.
The Second Amendment Nation rings have a lot of fine details that make casting them extremely difficult in sterling silver and gold, and next to impossible in stainless steel. There simply weren't any manufacturers in the US equipped to handle manufacturing in stainless steel. There were only a few gold and silver manufacturers in the US who could handle the inside deign of the rings and the inner radius, and even fewer who have the ability to build out our concept of a set shape while also swapping out side panels and unique imprinting for every single ring we order.
In reality, the process to create a customized 2nd Amendment Nation ring is very similar to the manufacturing of a typical high school or college class ring.
After several failed prototype rings, it took more than a year before finding a manufacture in Louisiana with the skill to create rings in cleanly in gold and silver.
Lastly, with the modern age of the internet, it is easy to find an inexpensive website company to build and host this website, but I learned a long time ago that there's far more to building an ecommerce site than anyone realizes. I couldn't simply hire the least person expensive overseas to build this site, instead, I found another American company that specializes in creating unique ecommerce jewelry websites.
When you receive your very own Second Amendment Nation ring, you'll be able to see for yourself how everything is heavy duty, and as strong as the 2nd Amendment itself. Wearing the ring is sure to be a 2nd Amendment conversation starter for a productive dialog, in addition to a great way to show your pride in the USA, your love of our freedom's, and that you have the means to protect it.
Thank you for your patriotism!
